Hi Martin,
I am sure you will remember me ,from days of the sessions in KOWIE to working in the bank in Grahamstown . Reading your article about being on of the first computer programmer brought memories back to me. I was staying at DON FUTTER'S boarding house in Grahamstown when you told me about the computer business, I was working at Barclays bank at the time. Anyway I immediately enrolled for a computer aptitude course in P.E.
I subsequently did the course and was very upset when the results came back (DEAR MR Warren we believe you to be a very talented person however we believe your talents lie in another field other than computers.) Since then after leaving the bank I joined my grandfather Jack Legg on his farm GLENHOPE near Hayes Siding on the way to Bathurst. My mom Jill and Mike Legg are brother and sister. My son Grant who I believe is friendly with your son Junior is still at CTI in P.E. and hopefully will finish his course in the next few months. Thinking about you and the bank days , I saw DON AND Ronnie Futter last year as well as Brian Letcher. Have you still got a Flamingo car, gee that was an age ago. We are going to stay with Sue RANDALL in Plett next weekend I am sure you will remember her. I remember when you had a whole lot of Playboy magazines in your flat at the bank when there was a scare that the cops where going to go and search your room and you brought them to my room so you wouldn't get caught. Well time has really flown by since those halcyon days in the Kowie do you remember when we used old Bozzie Sansom to protect us from China ,the leader of the ducktails from P.E at the sessions at the VIC. Just thinking of the bands that used to play there---The coffin kings----The Pleasuremachine --The Shanes ----The Cavaliers they played at the Langdon. One of these days my wife Sheena and I will book in and have a chinwag with you sooner than later, best regards, Mark Warren

Mark my friend...
How good to hear from you.
Jirre boet, you look healthier than a
pineapple plant in full bloom !
But I recognise you immediately.
Lost some of that shyness, huh...GOOD.
But, as we both well know, being humble
is an endearing trait.

It's so great receiving a letter like
this out of the blue.

Oh I remember those Playboy mags.
Illegal then, the collection was
owned by me and Brian Letcher,
Tony Mandy and Kenny Agombar.
Earned us quite a few free beers
they did ! Especially from Henry
Korby - remember him? His nickname
was eleven and a half inches.

Bozzie Sansom was aptly named.
He's mentioned elsewhere in these
pages. Strongest man I have ever
had the privilege of knowing. Brother
Len was another great guy.

The Coffin Kings - That was one
of Pixie's bands, wasn't it ?

Great hearing from you,
please keep in touch...Cheers
